ShowCase® Suite 8.0 System Requirements
ShowCase Suite 8.0, the latest release following 7.1, became generally available on December 14, 2007. The system requirements for 8.0 follow. System requirements for ShowCase Suite 7.1 and ShowCase Suite 7.0 are listed further down on this page.
Server
- Hardware: IBM® System i5™ iSeries™
- Operating System:
- IBM i5/OS® Version 5, Release 3 (V5R3) or Release 4 (V5R4) with the latest cumulative PTF package and group PTFs
- Java™ Developer Kit (JDK) 1.5 (5722JV1, Option 7)
- Latest DB2 Group PTF, Hiper Group PTFs, Java Group PTFs for JDK 1.5
- PASE (5722SS1, Option 33)
- QShell Interpreter
- Disk space: 500MB for ShowCase components plus 300MB temporary disk space during installation
Client
- Hardware: IBM-compatible PC
- Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® Vista Business or Enterprise Edition or XP Professional or 2000 Professional with Service Pack 3
- Microprocessor: Intel® Pentium® processor operating at 1.8 GHz or higher or the minimum speed required by your operating system
- Memory: 512MB in addition to the minimum required by your operating system
- Disk space: At least 200MB for installation of ShowCase Suite components

ShowCase 8.0 is now integrated with SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services. If you are planning to use ShowCase Suite 8.0 with SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services, the following additional requirements apply:

- IBM WebSphere® V6.1 Express or Base Edition
- J9 JVM (5722JV1, Option 8)

ShowCase® Suite 7.1 System Requirements
ShowCase Suite 7.1 is designed specifically for organizations using JD Edwards® EnterpriseOne™ 8.10 or 8.11 that run reports against databases created in the Unicode Worldwide Character Standard. Other customers should refer to the ShowCase Suite 7.0 system requirements shown below.

Additional Requirements for ShowCase Warehouse Builder
Using ShowCase Warehouse Builder with remote DB2 platforms requires Distributed Relational Database Architecture (DRDA) communication between each remote DB2 platform and the iSeries control server. You may use either SNA or TCP/IP communication for DRDA connections.

- Memory: 1GB RAM (minimum)
- Disk space: At least 200MB for the application, plus additional space for the SQL Server repository database
Additional Requirements for ShowCase Essbase 7.1.3
Server

- Java Developer Kit 1.3 and 1.4
- Java Runtime Environment 1.4.1 for Essbase Administration Services (EAS) Console
- Toolbox for Java: 5722JV1 and 5722JC1
- Disk space:
- 500MB plus 280MB temporary space (freed after installation)
- Additional space equal to the size of your largest multidimensional database
- TCP/IP configured and started
For EAS patch 7.1.3, 5722AC3 Crypto Access Provider 128-bit for AS/400 is recommended. It is shipped with operating systems V5R3 and above but must be ordered separately for other operating system releases.
Client
For ShowCase Essbase Server patch 7.1.3, the following client patch levels are required:
- Analytic Services 7.1.3
- EAS 7.1.3
- EIS 7.1.3

- ShowCase Warehouse Manager Server 6.5 or 7.0 (to use ShowCase Data Models)
- ShowCase Essbase 7.1 or later (to use Analyzer with multidimensional databases)
Client
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows 2003, Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 or 3, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3, or Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 3
- Portable Application Solutions Environment (PASE) installed
- Microprocessor: 450 MHz or higher (processor speed will affect performance)
- Software: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later with Java plug-in 1.4.2_06 or later and Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 5.0
